Travel:  The San Francisco Bay Area is served by three major international airports:  San Francisco International Airport (SF0), Oakland International Airport (OAK) and San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC).  The Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is located approximately 100 miles to the east and is also an option.

SFO - Located on the SF peninsula, it is about a $50 taxi tide to the hotel.  Super Shuttle (and other limo services) will deliver directly to the hotel along with other services.  SFO is also served by the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)  Although the trains do connect to SFO, it does require a transfer and also will deposit you in the Financial district which is around a 10 minute taxi ride to the hotel.

OAK -  This is a hub for Southwest Airlines.  It is about the same distance to downtown as SFO.  and does have SuperShuttle service to the hotel as well as a BART connection.  Typically -- airfares are less expensive from OAK.

SJC - This is also served by Southwest and American Airlines is strong in this airport.  It is around a one hour drive to the hotel

Driving in SF:  San Francisco is a densely populated city in only 7 square miles.  Traffic is terrible, and parking very difficult and expensive.   We recommend that you take taxis and public transit.

Safety in SF:  San Francisco is a wonderful visitor attraction, but be on guard.  The downtown areas are relatively safe if you stay to the North of Market Street and also use precaution in the Tenderloin District which is near Market street.  Fisherman's Wharf is an international visitor attraction, and in recent years has developed a problem with aggressive panhandlers.  Enjoy the city but keep your guard up!
